Virat Kohli’s cjildlike gesture towards Mayanti Langer during the RCB’s celebration left everyone speechless and won the hearts of fans on the social media. RCB’s IPL 2025 victory was not just a normal victory; it was a dream come true for every RCB player and RCB fan.
RCB stunned the world by winning their maiden IPL title as they defeated Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings by six runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3.

Virat Kohli’s sweet gesture
Mayanti Langer is the broadcaster in the IPL final and her husband Stuart Binny played for RCB. In the middle of the celebration, RCB players were walking around the ground with the trophy in their hands, and Kohli took the trophy from Jitesh Sharma’s hand and went towards Mayanti.
Kohli told Mayanti to touch the trophy, and the sweet gesture left Mayanti emotional in the middle of the ground. Navjot Singh Sidhu was also present on the ground and gave blessings to Kohli during the celebration

Mayanti Langer’s connection to RCB
Mayanti Langer’s husband Stuart Binny is a Bengaluru boy, who announced his retirmemt from the sport in 2021. Binny also donned the RCB jersey twice in his career and was a part of the 2016 campaign, when RCB’s heart broke in the final.
Mayanti also has a connection with Bengaluru city as she moved to the city over a decade ago. Mayanti got engaged to Stuart a decade back and settled down in Bengaluru.
"I followed a boy to Bengaluru (laughs). When I met Stuart (cricketer Stuart Binny) and we started getting serious, we decided to stay together after we got engaged. That is how Bengaluru happened. I knew it was a long-term commitment; my husband got an apartment for us, and that is how I came to be here,” Mayanti Langer stated in 2021 on her connection with RCB.
RCB victory parade turned horrific
Fans engaged in a huge gathering to celebrate the victory of their franchise after so many years, but the celebration turned down in a tragic event as seven people were killed and more than 25 people were injured in a stampede.
Kartanka Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar also joined the team’s victory parade, and fans came in big numbers to show their love to Virat Kohli and co. But the celebration didn’t last long, as the police couldn’t control the crowd, and seven people died in the stampede.
