Kohli destroys Kagiso Rabada to reach special milestone in style
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli once again proved why he is one of the biggest names in IPL history, as he achieved another massive record during the IPL 2026 clash in Ahmedabad. He needed just 12 runs to reach a special milestone, and he attacked Kagiso Rabada to reach the landmark in style.

Kohli became the first player ever to score more than 8,000 IPL runs only in India. The way he got there made it even more exciting. The dashing right-handed batter looked in complete control as he smashed five back-to-back boundaries against Rabada.
Even though Rabada managed to get his revenge later and dismissed Kohli in the fourth over, the former RCB captain had already played an impactful knock of 28 runs in just 13 balls, hitting one six and five fours and giving his team the flying start. However, RCB could manage only 155 runs, and later GT chased down the target with ease inside 16 overs with four wickets in hand.
Before this match, Kohli had already become the first player in IPL history to cross 9,000 total runs, including matches played in places like South Africa and the UAE.
