Virat Kohli couldn’t help but start dancing after Mohammed Shami finally got his reward after a relentless over against Cooper Connolly in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal between India and Australia at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on March 4.
Mohammed Shami’s five deliveries beat the bat, but the last one finally found the thick under-edge. It was a length delivery outside off, and Cooper Connolly attempted a cut shot but got a thick under-edge. The ball didn’t carry well to the Indian wicketkeeper KL Rahul, so he had to dive forward to take the catch.

India confidently appealed, but umpire Richard Illingworth rejected it. As a result, Rohit Sharma went for a review, and a quick review confirmed the edge on UltraEdge. And Shami, who troubled Connolly throughout the over, got his well-deserved wicket, as the Australian opener Connolly departed for a nine-ball duck against India in the semifinal clash in Dubai.
After India’s successful review, Virat Kohli couldn’t hide his excitement, as he started dancing to celebrate the early breakthrough Shami brought for the Men in Blue against Australia. Kohli showed off his bhangra moves to mock Connolly in Dubai.

Rohit Sharma makes an unwanted record after lossing toss against Australia
After losing the toss, Rohit Sharma made an unwanted record, as India has now lost 14 consecutive tosses in the ODI cricket. This streak is the longest ever in ODI history and has continued since the ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia in Ahmedabad.
The Indian skipper is only behind Brian Lara’s streak of 12 toss losses in a row for West Indies (1998-1999) and equaled Peter Borren’s 11 for the Netherlands (2011-2013). Rohit has now lost 11 tosses in a row since November 2023, making him one of the most toss-losing captains in the ODIs.
'When you're in two minds, it's better to lose the toss'
Rohit said at the toss, “I was prepared to do both. When you're in two minds, it's better to lose the toss. We've played three games here, and each time it had something different in it. You can't really say this is how the pitch is going to play. The pitch keeps changing its nature. At the end of the day, you have to play good cricket, and that's what we are focused on. We've played good cricket in all three games, and that's what we'll look to do now.”
Speaking about the match, Australia has now lost four wickets for 144 runs in 27 overs against India, with Ravindra Jadeja taking two scalps while Varun Chakravarthy and Mohammad Shami each snaring one wicket at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
