The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batting superstar Virat Kohli celebrated the victory over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) wildly at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh.
Virat Kohli was also seen mocking the Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper Shreyas Iyer after the win in the 37th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Sunday, April 20.
Kohli shines in the run chase against the Punjab Kings
After winning the toss, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opted to bowl first in the match, and a terrific bowling performance saw them restrict the opposition to a below-par score of 157 runs.
Chasing the target, Virat Kohli showcased a batting masterclass and once again justified his chase master tag. Kohli opened the innings with Phil Salt, and in the first over itself, the English opener fell to Arshdeep Singh.
However, that didn't disrupt Kohli's concentration, and he looked focused on taking revenge for RCB's loss to PBKS in their previous clash in the Indian Premier League 2025.
Kohli batted brilliantly and stitched up match-winning partnerships with Devdutt Padikkal of 103 runs, with Rajat Patidar of 34 runs, and with Jitesh Sharma of 16* runs.
The RCB wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma finished off the match in style by hitting a six on the 5th ball of the 19th over. Moments after Jitesh hit the six, Kohli was seen celebrating wildly at the non-striker's end while looking at Shreyas Iyer.
Then, Virat Kohli stopped Shreyas Iyer as the players were about to go for a customary handshake and was seen having an animated chat with him. Shreyas Iyer didn't look happy as Kohli was seen mocking him and passing on some comments.

It was important when I went in that I built a partnership with Virat - Devdutt Padikkal
Speaking after the match, the star Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batsman Devdutt Padikkal said that the presence of Virat Kohli on the other end made things easy for him during the run chase.
The left-handed batter also revealed that he has worked a lot on his game with the batting coach Dinesh Karthik and head coach Andy Flower. He said:
"It was important when I went in that I built a partnership with Virat. These small totals can be tricky and I wanted to make sure I give a good start. There's been a lot of hard work that's gone in the last few months. With DK and Andy, I've worked on certain aspects, and it's coming off now. When you have someone on the other side with that much confidence and calmness, it makes your job easy."
Devdutt Padikkal further stated that playing for his home state in the Indian Premier League is quite special for him.
"Playing for my home state and city is very special. It always feels a little bit more special when you play for them and play in the Chinnaswamy as well. There's a lot of confidence in the side. Everyone is batting well and getting runs. We haven't batted well in our home conditions, which is something we have to accept and take responsibility for. Hopefully we can really work on that."
