During a practice session at the slip cordon, a group of Indian players, including Sarfaraz Khan, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Dhruv Jurel, were working on catching drills.

In a video going viral on social media, Sarfaraz tried to take a catch in a highly unorthodox manner. Virat Kohli burst out laughing, while Rishabh Pant was left "floored" by the hilarious incident.

Sarfaraz Khan to Be Dropped from India's Playing XI in Perth Test

There are reports that Sarfaraz Khan might not be included in the playing XI for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 opener. Devdutt Padikkal might bat at No. 3 in the absence of Shubman Gill, who is ruled out due to a thumb injury. Dhruv Jurel will play as a specialist batter at No. 6 in the lineup.

Sarfaraz had an impressive start to his Test career, scoring three half-centuries in his debut series against England earlier this year. He also smashed his maiden Test century in Bengaluru during the series opener against New Zealand.

However, his form dipped in the matches in Pune and Mumbai, where he was dismissed cheaply in all four innings. Meanwhile, Devdutt Padikkal scored 65 runs in his debut Test against England in Dharamsala earlier this year. He made an impact in unofficial Test matches for India A against Australia A.

Can Sarfaraz Khan Not Be Considered At All? - Aakash Chopra

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra stated that the team has a responsibility to utilize the players they have picked. The former cricketer emphasized that Sarfaraz deserves a fair chance to prove his worth.

"Can Sarfaraz not be considered at all? Although you and I might have less confidence in him, it doesn't make a difference what you, I or the team think about him. If you have taken him along, it's your duty to try him at least," Chopra said.

"Without trying, you cannot tell anyone that you are not enjoying playing him, especially a player who is tried and tested. You played him and he scored 150. You played him against England before that and he scored runs. So after scoring runs, you cannot tell anyone that there is a chance and a place but you would play someone else ahead of him," he added.
