Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continues their trophy-winning celebration in style. Several videos of their celebrations are doing rounds on social media platforms featuring Virat Kohli, captain Rajat Patidar, batting coach and mentor Dinesh Karthik, pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and several other RCB stars. One such video captures Virat and Bhuvneshwar performing Punjab’s traditional "Kikli" step on the dance floor.
RCB were crowned as the champions for the second consecutive season. They started the IPL 2026 campaign as the defending champions and concluded it by successfully defending their hard-earned title. Virat Kohli was the Player of the Match in the final for his match-defining, unbeaten 75-run knock at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Virat Kohli turned the final into a one-sided contest
Gujarat Titans qualified for the final as one of the most consistent and in-form teams in the league. Expectations were high on their skipper, Shubman Gill, Sudharsan, Josh Buttler, and on their bowling line-up. Titans received the first blow in the match when the RCB bowlers restricted them to only 155 runs in 20 overs, taking wickets at regular intervals.
At the presentation ceremony, Gill confessed that a total of around 180 to 190 would be better for them to throw a strong challenge against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. RCB did not need to grind much to claim the target, as the batting maestro Virat Kohli remained on track from the beginning to the end of the run chase. The ‘chase-master’ secured the title in style by smashing a maximum in the last ball of the 18th over. RCB won the IPL 2026 final by 5 wickets and 12 balls to spare.
Back-to-back crowns for RCB
The team that had to wait for almost 18 years for their maiden title emerged as the champions in two back-to-back seasons. Before Bengaluru, Chennai Super Kings, and Mumbai Indians were the only two teams that had the record for defending their titles, respectively.
Bengaluru started their celebration as soon as Virat smashed Arshad Khan for the six to finish things off in style. Anushka Sharma, who was at the gallery, later came to the ground to celebrate the auspicious moment with his husband Virat Kohli, the Player of the Match.
Kohli is among the cricketers who are never shy to express themselves through their emotions. During the match, when the GT players, including Sai Sudharsan, tried to unsettle his mind, Kohli walked straight away to confront the fielder with words and a commanding gesture. After the match, when RCB retained the title, it was the same man who celebrated the moment most cheerfully.
Virat expressed his pleasure at the ceremony
It is not the first time that the fans watched ‘the Kings’ dancing on the floor. He was earlier spotted dancing with his wife, Anushka Sharma, as the couple celebrated RCB's title win. He should be, as it was his dream for years to hit the winning runs in the final for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru
