Such incidents have happened previously as well but mostly in India. Kohli's huge fan following forces the fans to go wild about him as they want to meet their favorite cricketer. Kohli too has treated them well at times by asking the security not to deal harshly with them.
Not a great series for Virat Kohli
It has not been a great series with the bat for Virat Kohli. The 36-year-old is in bad form and that has continued in the ongoing series as well. Kohli has scored just 126 runs in five Test innings so far at an average of 31.50.
He scored a magnificent hundred in the first Test of the series at Perth but has looked woefully out of form in the second and third Tests in Adelaide and Brisbane. In the last Test in Brisbane, Kohli registered scores of 7 and 11 across both the innings.
Kohli was also involved in a confrontation with Sam Konstas during Australia's first innings. Kohli will be under pressure going in to bat in the match. It is a big occasion since it's a Boxing Day Test and Kohli relishes such occasions. It is a perfect time for India's talismanic batter to get back into form.
Australia put up a massive total
Meanwhile, Australia have strengthened its position in the Boxing Day Test with a spectacular batting display to reach 474 in the first innings. The top three batters of Australia Sam Konstas, Usman Khawaja, and Marnus Labuschagne all registered fifties.
Konstas shined on his debut with a fiery 60 off 65 balls at the top and gave Australia a great start. The youngster struck 6 fours and 2 sixes during his knock. Khawaja batted well alongside him with 57 off 121 balls.
Labuschagne also scored a flawless 72 but the star of the show was Steve Smith who smashed a magnificent 140 off 197 balls to take Australia to a position of strength. He struck 13 fours and 3 sixes during his masterclass.
The lower order batters contributed well and gave a good company to Steve Smith. Skipper Pat Cummins scored a cruicial 49 while Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon reached double-digit figures as well. In reply, India had already lost their skipper Rohit Sharma early.
