Mushtaq, the current spin bowling coach of the Bangladesh cricket team, admitted that criticism is part of the game, and he is completely okay with it, but his former Pakistani teammates crossed the line. The former spinner slammed Akram and Waqar for making too much fun of him, his game, and coaching.

Ahmed also said that the duo talked a lot of wrong things about him. The way Akram and Waqar criticized Mushtaq’s coaching also didn’t go down well with him. He also warned the two iconic faces of Pakistan cricket that they should not underestimate him because of his height, as he knows how to fight for himself.

Reflecting on his past, Mushtaq said that he had a lot of talent, and even Wasim very often acknowledged his talent, but only to trouble him. He publicly claimed that Waqar and Wasim were used to bowl bouncers to only shatter his confidence, and if they were supportive, he could become one of Pakistan’s best all-rounders.

However, Mushtaq also mentioned the strong camaraderie he once shared with his teammates while playing for Pakistan. The Bangladesh coach said that his former teammates’ recent criticism and trolling reopened the old wounds, and he decided to take legal action against them for harassment and digital bullying, seeking INR 20 crore from Waqar and INR 15 crore from Wasim through the lawsuit.

Following Mushtaq’s public statement, Waqar Younis responded by apologizing to him. Waqar jokingly said that he doesn’t have INR 20 crore, and if any of his actions hurt, he is sorry for that, before saying that his actions make their program more hit.

On the other hand, Wasim Akram refused to back down, making it clear that he is ready to face Mushtaq in court. Wasim Akram also jokingly said that Waqar hurt Mushtaq more and that’s why he was seeking more money from him; he felt this stunt would only grow the show’s popularity.

Notably, Pakistan crashed out of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 after back-to-back defeats against New Zealand and India in the group matches. India and New Zealand have qualified for the semifinals, and now Pakistan’s campaign will end with the Bangladesh game on February 27.
