Legendary Pakistan paceman Wasim Akram has not been shy of taking a dig at his country's fielding unit on various occasions. Akram has once again trolled Pakistan's fielders from the commentary box during the second ODI between Australia and Pakistan at Adelaide.
During the fourth over of Australia's innings, Wasim Akram revealed the reason why the stumps use to fly everywhere when he and Waqar Younis were bowling. Akram reasoned it by saying that they didn't trust the fielders which is why they had to rely on bowled and LBWs.
The commentary box was full of laughter at Akram's hilarious reasoning. In the next ball, Shaheen Afridi proved Akram's comments right by dropping a sitter at the deep backward square leg boundary.
Naseem Shah bowled a short ball to Australia's opener Matthew Short. The ball seemed to be going straight to Shaheen Afridi who was stationed perfectly for that shot. However, the ball burst through his hands as he went for a reverse-cupped catch and it resulted in a four.

Shaheen Afridi was also signing some autographs for a kid just before this dropped catch. He might have lost his concentration by seeing the ball straight at him suddenly. However, it was an easy chance and he immediately put his hands up to apologise to the bowler and his team.
Despite dropping Matthew Short, Shaheen Afridi picked up his wicket a few overs later when he had him caught at cover-point by Babar Azam. Short was dismissed for just 19. It was his second successive low score in this series.
Pakistan's history of poor fielding
Pakistan's fielding has been a talking point throughout their cricketing existence. The Men in Green haven't been known as a great fielding unit and have always struggled in that area. They have also lost several important games due to their poor fielding standards.
Meanwhile, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis are still regarded as one of the best fast-bowling pairs to have ever played the game. Both the quicks had exceptional skills and were extremely dangerous during their playing days.
Both the bowlers served Pakistan cricket for a long time and despite several catches dropped off their bowling, they had the skills and temperament to trouble the opposition batters.
Good day for Shaheen Afridi with the ball
While Shaheen Afridi didn't have a great day on the field, he had a good day with the ball along with the other Pakistani bowlers. Afridi removed both the openers Matthew Short and Jake Fraser-McGurk cheaply inside the first powerplay.
The left-arm fast bowler came back later to dismiss Adam Zampa as well. He finished with 3-26 in 8 overs as Pakistan bowled Australia out for just 163. It is also Australia's lowest first-innings score against Pakistan in ODIs.
