Watch: Wasim Akram, Shoaib Malik & Others Share Predictions For World Cup 2023 Final

India and Australia are battling at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Australia is playing in their eighth World Cup final targeting their sixth title while India is in the final for the fourth time eyeing their third title. Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket experts have their say as to who are the favorites to win the World Cup and which player will be the one to watch out for.

Former Pakistan cricketers Wasim Akram, Misbah-ul-Haq, Moin Khan, and Shoaib Malik have weighed in with their predictions for the World Cup final. On a TV show, the experts shared their predictions for the World Cup final winners between Australia and India. Two of the four panelists chose India and the other two predicted Australia.

Misbah-ul-Haq was the first to draw in his predictions and he predicted that India will win the final against Australia. Wasim Akram jokingly said, “I have previously said that 60%  India and 40% Australia but I also have to go home so Australia.” Wasim Akram’s wife belongs to Australia and thus he jokingly favoured his wife’s nation.

Moin Khan was next and he predicted India while Shoaib Malik said that he wants the World Cup to stay in the sub-continent so he would be rooting for India but as an expert, he thinks that Australia has a better bet. After this, Misbah made fun of Malik’s diplomatic answer and both of them shared a banter in the panel. Misbah jokingly said, “Tumri Haa Naa Mei Koi Farq Nazar Nahi Aa Raha” which means your yes and no is the same to me. It is a famous saying which is used for people who bet on both sides of the coins

The experts then weighed in with their predictions about players to watch out for. Shoaib Malik who chose Australia as the World Cup winners picked an Indian player as his player to watch out for. He named KL Rahul as his player to watch out for. Moin Khan was next who chose Shubman Gill as his player to watch out for.

Wasim Akram picked Australian opener David Warner as his player to watch out for and Misbah-ul-Haq predicted Ravindra Jadeja to perform well in the finals. India and Australia are facing each other for the second time in the ODI World Cup finals with the first one going Australia’s way in 2003.
