Brook attempted a square drive off a short and wide delivery from Mitchell Santner outside off stump. The shot seemed destined to race to the boundary, but Young, fielding at backward point, dived full stretch to his left and plucked the ball out of the air with one hand.

Brook couldn’t believe what had happened and had to walk back to the pavilion. The home crowd erupted in applause, and social media was soon flooded with clips of Young’s stunning catch.

Harry Brook’s dismissal sparked a collapse as England were bowled out for just 175 in 36 overs. Jamie Overton showed resistance with a quickfire 42 off 28 balls, but his effort only delayed the inevitable as Tickner cleaned up the tail.

New Zealand’s bowlers capitalized on the conditions at Hamilton, maintaining relentless pressure and exploiting bounce and movement. Blair Tickner was the pick of the bowlers, taking four crucial wickets.

Defending a modest total, Jofra Archer picked up 3 wickets for 23 runs from 10 overs, including four maidens. New Zealand were reeling at 118 for 5 at one stage. However, Daryl Mitchell (56* off 59) and Mitchell Santner (34 off 17) guided the team to victory without losing further wickets.

Was a Great Game for Us - Mitchell Santner

After New Zealand’s win, Mitchell Santner stated that the players adapted well to the conditions. He said bowling England out in just 36 overs was a special effort. The skipper expressed delight at taking a 2–0 lead in front of the home crowd.

"Was a great game for us. The boys were exceptional. We adapted very well. Bowling out a team like that in 36 overs was special. 170 was something we will definitely take it. Not the most fluent game but Mitchell and Rachin did well."

"Mitchell has been outstanding for us. Last game and today. He is nice. Having Daryl there was nice. Very happy to go 2-0 up in front of a great crowd. Credit to Blair. He is a world class bowler. Just trust the guys to come in and be themselves. He just kept bashing the wicket and kept hitting the deck hard. Duffy did well in the powerplay as well."
