Saha has been the stalwart of Indian cricket. He has been a domestic veteran as he has mustered over 7000 runs at an average of 48.68, including 14 centuries and 44 fifties. His incredible contributions to Bengal also saw him becoming a regular member of Team India when MS Dhoni retired.
His last appearance for India National Cricket Team came in December 2021 in a Test match against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium. After that, team management sidelined him, with KS Bharat being chosen as the backup for Rishabh Pant in the longest format of the game.
Wriddhiman Saha was a decent contributor for the India National Cricket Team in the Tests
Saha also was a decent contributor for the India National Cricket Team in the Tests. The keeper-batter amassed 1,353 runs at an average of 29.41. He also slammed three tons and six fifties with the best of 117, which came against Australia.
His skills behind the stumps were exceptional, and it's fair to say that he arguably was the best keeper who played for the national team in the longest format of the game. Saha was part of 104 dismissals in Tests out of which 92 were catches and 12 were stumpings.
Saha, in the ongoing game against Punjab, failed in the first innings. He bagged a 7-ball duck as he was dismissed by Gurnoor Brar. He would be keen to make an impact in the second innings and end his career on high.
