India captain Rohit Sharma has been in the talks ever since Team India won the ICC T20 World 2024. The opening batter finally had his hands on the World Cup as his side defeated South Africa in the final of the tournament to lift their second-ever title.

Rohit Sharma, who has been the backbone of the team for the last decade, since the last few years has been giving his best to win the trophy. But the batter despite giving his best failed to do so. In the last few tournaments, he was sensational but the team succumbed to pressure in crucial games and lost. 

But in the T20 World Cup 2024, it was a completely different Indian team. Under the leader of Rohit Sharma, the Men in Blue played a fearless brand of cricket and it was the captain who led from the front and showed the path to his team in the tournament, batting aggressively at the top.

Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, the India Team remained unbeaten as they won all the games and became the first team to win the title undefeated. They were on top of their game in almost every match as almost every individual stepped up at crucial times.

As India lifted the T20 World Cup 2024, one of the things that caught the attention of many was the celebration of Rohit Sharma as he came to collect the trophy. The India captain recreated Lionel Messi's iconic moment from the 2022 FIFA World Cup as he went on the podium to collect the trophy.

Ric Flair recreates Rohit Sharma's T20 World Cup trophy collection celebration 

Three days after his claim, WWE superstar Ric Flair came up with another tweet and recreated Rohit Sharma's T20 World Cup trophy collection celebration to prove that it was indeed his celebration that Sharma emulated. Taking to his Twitter account, he posted the video of himself and captioned the post: "The Worldwide Sensation! WOOOOO!"

Rohit Sharma led from the front with the bat in the T20 World Cup 2024. He was the leading run-getter for his team as he scored 257 runs in 8 matches with a strike rate of 156.70. His highest score came in the game against Australia in the Super 8 stage, where he scored 92 runs.

After winning the T20 World Cup 2024, Rohit Sharma retired from the T20Is. He ended his career as an all-time leading run-getter with 4231 runs. The skipper finished with five hundred, the most by a batter in T20I cricket. He also hit 32 fifties and had a career strike rate of 140.
