England opening batter Zak Crawley had a scary moment during the first innings of the third Test match against India at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on Thursday, July 10. The right-handed batter slipped awkwardly while turning for a second run at the striker’s end and tumbled to the ground.
India are currently taking on England in the third Test of their five-match series. England secured a five-wicket win in the opening Test at Leeds, but the Shubman Gill-led side responded with a 336-run victory in the second Test. Both teams are aiming to secure a win and take the lead in the ongoing series.

Ben Stokes opted to bat first after winning a third consecutive toss in the series. Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep went wicketless with the new ball in their first spell. The England opening duo played through the first four overs without losing any wickets.
On the fifth ball of the 13th over, Ben Duckett drove a full delivery near the off stump past mid-off. Duckett and Zak Crawley initially considered a second run. However, Crawley lost his footing while turning and slipped. The pair decided to stick with a single and shared a light-hearted moment.

Nitish Kumar Reddy’s Double Blow Sends England Openers Packing
After surviving the first hour of disciplined swing bowling, England reached 39 without loss in 13 overs. But the momentum quickly shifted after the first drinks break when Shubman Gill handed the ball to Nitish Reddy.
Reddy conceded a boundary to Ben Duckett on his second delivery. However, he dismissed the left-hander for 23. Duckett attempted to pull a short ball that was drifting down leg, but he mistimed it due to the lack of pace. The ball brushed his gloves and was caught by Rishabh Pant behind the stumps.
Reddy struck again just three balls later. Zak Crawley edged a sharp length delivery with extra bounce to the keeper. Crawley, who had already survived a few nervy moments, perished for 18 as the ball glanced off his gloves. England went from 39/0 to 45/2 after drinks.
India Enter Third Test at Lord’s High on Confidence
India entered the third Test at Lord’s on the back of dominant performances with both bat and ball in the second Test, where they secured an emphatic victory.
Shubman Gill has been in sublime form, scoring 585 runs in just four innings at a staggering average of 146.25. His tally includes three centuries. Vice-captain Rishabh Pant has amassed 342 runs in three innings, including two hundreds in the series opener.
In the bowling department, Akash Deep impressed with a 10-wicket match haul, while Mohammed Siraj picked up six wickets in the first innings at Edgbaston. India’s batting lineup looked solid in the second Test, putting up commanding totals of 587 and 427/6 declared.
England, led by Ben Stokes, are known for their ability to stage strong comebacks, something India have been on the receiving end of in past encounters.
