India will play a two-match Test series in Sri Lanka next month. The first Test will be played in Galle from August 15, while the second Test will be held at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo from August 23 to 27.

Wasim Jaffer predicts 2-0 clean sweep for India
Before the crucial WTC series in August, Wasim Jaffer feels the India National Cricket Team is stronger than Sri Lanka in every department. He believes that Shubman Gill’s team has a better batting line-up, a strong bowling attack, and enough experience to dominate the Test series.
The cricket pundit expects India to whitewash Sri Lanka in the upcoming Test series, saying anything less than a clean sweep would be disappointing because they look much stronger than the hosts. Amid this, Sanju Samson drops blunt message for selectors on his India future.
Wasim Jaffer says India is stronger than Sri Lanka in every department
Wasim Jaffer said in a video on his YouTube channel, "I would say India should win the series 2-0. If you look at both teams on paper, the Indian side is much stronger. So, if India doesn't win the series 2-0, it would be a disappointing outcome. Sri Lanka is a very good team; there's no doubt about that. But on paper, I feel we are much stronger.”
However, Jaffer also reminded everyone that Sri Lanka is always a dangerous team at home. They know their conditions well and have troubled many visiting teams over the years. Even then, he feels India has enough quality to whitewash them.
India has also enjoyed a good record against Sri Lanka in Tests. Both teams have played 46 Tests so far, with India winning 22 matches while Sri Lanka has won seven, and 19 matches have ended in a draw.
Wasim Jaffer against any changes at top for Sri Lanka tour
Meanwhile, Wasim Jaffer urged the team management not to make any changes to the top four. He backed young batter Sai Sudharsan to continue batting at No. 3.
The former opener also wants India to continue with KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal as the openers; Sai Sudharsan should bat at No. 3, and captain Shubman Gill should continue at No. 4.
He said, “I think the No. 3 position suits him well. Shubman is batting at No. 4 and has been batting really well, so I don't see the top four positions changing anytime soon.”
Jaffer wants Sai Sudharsan to get a long run in Test cricket
Jaffer believes Sai has shown good signs in the matches he has played and deserves a longer run in the Test team. He feels the left-hander has the talent to become a regular player for India.
He signed off by saying, “As far as Sai is concerned, all the selectors and even the captain have said that they want to give him a long rope. He also performed well in the recent series, so I believe he deserves that opportunity. He's a good player, a solid player, and he's only going to improve. He's the kind of character who will just keep getting better.”
