'We Helped As A Family': Shaheen Afridi Reveals Why Pakistan Team Carried Luggage At Australia Airport

Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi revealed in a recent chat why the Pakistan team carried their luggage at the airport. Shaheen Afridi said that they wanted to help each other as they had their joining flight in 30 minutes.

Pakistan team touched down at Airport in Australia on Saturday for their forthcoming Test series against Australia. Pakistan and Australia will play a total of 3 Test matches during the series.

We Helped Them As A Family: Shaheen Afridi

Speaking to reports in Canberra, Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi revealed why they carried their pieces of luggage. He said that there were just two people to carry their pieces of luggage and they had 30 minutes times to catch their next flight. Hence, they helped each other like a family.

“We only had 30 minutes to catch our next flight and we helped because there were just two people. We wanted to wrap it up fast and to save time. We call this team a family and helped them as a family,” Afridi said.

The incident invited mixed reactions from the fans. While some fans laughed at the poor welcome of the Pakistan team, others criticized Australia for their poor hospitality services.

Meanwhile, David Warner is going to play his last Test series against Pakistan. He has announced his retirement after the series. Speaking about the same, Shaheen Afridi wished him luck.

“We would wish him good luck but we are not hoping for a good end for David Warner in his last Test series against us. This is an important series for Pakistan as we are leading the World Test Championship’s point table at the moment”, Shaheen Afridi said.

Pakistan will witness a big shift in its leadership. Shan Masood is the new skipper of the Pakistan team. Babar Azam quit the leadership of the side after the ICC World Cup 2023. Australia vs Pakistan 1st Test begins on December 14 at Perth Stadium. Ahead of the game, they will play a warm-up match.
