Indian skipper Virat Kohli has reacted after winning the man of the series as India completed off a series win over England as they won the final T20I of the five-match series. Team India won the five-match series 3-2 as they completed a scintillating fightback in the last two games to pull off an incredible series win over the number 1 ranked team in the ICC T20I Rankings.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli lost the toss for the fourth time this series and for the fourth time, he was invited by Eoin Morgan to bat. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli open the innings for team India and bolstered the English bowlers all over the park. For the first time in this series, team India didn’t lose a wicket in the powerplay as both the openers smashed 60 runs.
It Was A Complete Game For Us: Virat Kohli
After Rohit’s dismissal, Suryakumar Yadav brought carnage on the crease as he attacked the English players from the first go. He was undone by a brilliant combined catch by Chris Jordan and Jason Roy. But Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli kept on batting until the end to carry India to 224 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.
“It was a complete game for us. Totally outplayed the opposition. Even with so much dew coming in, like last game we’ve defended the total again. Today was a complete game. Despite Rishabh and Iyer not getting a chance we put on 225,” Virat Kohli said.
“Testimony to our batting depth. Today Rohit and me were both positive in our intent. We knew we could trust each other and one of us can play second fiddle if one takes off. Today it was classic Rohit Sharma. And then Surya coming in at three and taking the game even further away. Then Hardik finishing it,” Virat Kohli further stated.
Team India Win The Series As They Script Another Marvellous Comeback
The India National Cricket Team scripted a scintillating comeback in the five-match series after losing two of the first three games as they once were on the brink of being eliminated from the series right in the fourth game. However, the Men in Blue staged a brilliant comeback in the last two games and won the game after losing the toss.
Now, a three-match ODI series is all set to take place between India and England from March 23-March 28 at Pune entirely. The complete series will take place behind closed doors as the COVID-19 cases in the state continue to rise.
