After making waves in the IPL 2024 and the white-ball cricket, Rishabh Pant continued his great business in the Test cricket and has clearly shown the sign against Bangladesh that he is still the same explosive batter he was before his horrific car accident in 2022.

Since making his comeback to competitive cricket after nearly 18 months, the Indian wicketkeeper-batter has been impressive one and all with his batting and work behind the stumps across the formats.

Rishabh Pant yet again proved his dominance in Test cricket

After winning the T20 World Cup 2024 with India in June, Pant made a comeback to Tests. The talented left-handed batter was named in India’s Test squad for the ongoing first game against Bangladesh, and he showed the world why the national selectors and team management never think before placing bets on him in his style in Chennai.

On his comeback in Test cricket, Pant started aggressively but couldn’t capitalize on his good start, giving away his wicket to Hasan Mahmud for 39 runs off 52 balls in the first innings in the ongoing opening Test of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

However, it boosted his confidence massively, as he returned in the second inning wearing his dangerous best mode and left everyone in awe for everyone with his entertaining innings when the Indian cricket team needed the most after early setbacks against Bangladesh.

Well, Pant should have been out, but Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto dropped a simple catch off Shakib Al Hasan, and it proved too costly for the tourists in the ongoing Chennai Test. The left-hander smoked the remarkable century on his comeback in Test cricket.

It was his sixth hundred in the traditional format of the game. Pant reached the three-figure mark in 124 balls and hit 11 fours and 4 boundaries against the Bangladesh team. After his inspirational comeback in Test cricket, fans are showering love and respect on the talented cricketer.

Here's how fans react to Pant's century in the comeback Test:

Now, Pant has the joint-most centuries to his name as Indian wicketkeeper batter in Test cricket. However, the wicketkeeper could add only nine more runs to his ton before falling to Bangladeshi spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

After hitting a boundary, Pant was caught and bowled by Miraz. The Indian star charged down the pitch but couldn’t quite reach the ball, yet went through with his shot. The ball came flying back towards Mehidy, who reacted swiftly to his left and held onto a sharp catch, though it clearly stung his hands.

As Pant walked off, he blew a kiss to the sky, thanking God for making him able to make such a remarkable comeback in the format. He also received a well-deserved standing ovation from the crowd and the Indian team.

His incredible knock of 109 off 128 balls marked a stunning return to form across all three formats of the game. Later, Gill also notched up his century to become the first batter to register a second-inning century against Bangladesh after getting dismissed for a duck in the first inning.
