West Indian legend accuses India's senior players of not supporting Jasprit Bumrah; warns them of losing the T20 World Cup 2024

Jasprit Bumrah is probably among the best bowlers in the world currently across formats. The right-arm fast bowler has produced tremendous performances in every format and is highly successful in each of them.

The legendary West Indies fast bowler Sir Curtly Ambrose was in awe of the Indian fast bowler and claimed that he is a huge fan of Bumrah. Bumrah is currently playing in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which is jointly hosted by the West Indies and the USA.

Sir Curtly Ambrose lauds Jasprit Bumrah for his brilliance

While talking on Sports Tak, Sir Curtly Ambrose stated that he loves watching Jasprit Bumrah bowl because of his unorthodox action. He added that Bumrah has the unique ability to generate pace whenever he wants and is a highly skilled bowler.

"Jasprit Bumrah is a different bowler and I am his big fan. I love watching him bowl because he is unorthodox and not a traditional type of bowler who comes with a long run-up and bowls. He takes a short run-up and it looks like he is walking. Whatever he does after that has a huge impact and he has been doing a great job for Indian cricket. He can swing the ball and generate pace when he wants. So he is a very skilled bowler," Ambrose said.

At the same time, Ambrose also mentioned that Bumrah cannot win the game alone for India as the other players need to support him as well. He also praised Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's contributions to Indian cricket.

“He has the skill and ability but this is a team game. So he cannot do anything alone. If Bumrah does well and does not get the support of the other bowlers. Apart from this, if the batter does not score runs then India can lose. Therefore, this is a team game but despite this, he can play a big and important role in the victory," Ambrose stated.

"I believe that Rohit Sharma is a great captain and so is Virat Kohli. Apart from this, Rishabh Pant is a very dangerous player, so Team India looks like a very balanced side,” the legendary West Indian added.

Jasprit Bumrah's performance in T20 World Cup 2024

Jasprit Bumrah has produced unreal figures in the T20 World Cup 2024 so far. He has conceded only 20 runs in the 8 overs he has bowled so far and has taken 5 wickets. Overall in the tournament, he has picked up 10 wickets in five matches at an average of 6.50 and an economy rate of 3.42.

While the Indian bowlers have been on song, the batters are yet to join the party. Apart from Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya, no other batter has looked comfortable at the crease for long.

The form of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma is particularly concerning for the Men in Blue. Both are yet to get a big score under their belt although both showed glimpses of their fine touch in the previous match against Bangladesh.
