West Indies were forced to make one last-minute change to their playing eleven for the second Test against England, scheduled to be played from Thursday (July 18) at Trent Bridge.

Earlier on Wednesday, West Indies had named an unchanged playing eleven even after suffering a heavy defeat in the first Test at Lord's last week. However, they had to make a change in their team combination just before the start of the game as spinner Gudakesh Motie felt unwell after waking up on the match day. He has been replaced by 24-year-old spinner Kevin Sinclair.

"Gudakesh Motie has been replaced in the originally announced team by Kevin Sinclair. Motie woke up feeling unwell and is unable to take his place in the side," said a Cricket West Indies spokesperson.

In the first Test, Gudakesh Motie managed to make an impact with both bat and ball. After scoring an unbeaten 14 runs in the first innings, he scored an unbeaten 31 in the second innings. He was the only West Indies player to reach the 30-run mark with the bat during the game. With the ball, he castled Ben Stokes and Joe Root with two stunning deliveries.

Meanwhile, Sinclair has played just one Test so far. The right-arm spinner made his Test debut during the Brisbane Test against Australia earlier this year and picked up 1 wicket. He has a good record in first-class cricket. In 29 games, Sinclair has picked up 80 wickets.

West Indies vs England Playing XIs:

England:

West Indies:

Meanwhile, West Indies will be looking to bounce back after suffering an innings defeat in the first Test. England thrashed them by an innings and 114 runs in the opener to take the lead in the three-match series. In both the innings, West Indies' batters failed to impress as the visitors were bowled out for 121 and 136. England, on the other hand, scored 321 runs and it was enough to win the game.
