West Indies Playing 11 vs England- 2nd T20I, West Indies tour of England 2025:

Openers: Johnson Charles, Evin Lewis

Johnson Charles will continue to open the innings with Evin Lewis in the second game of the ENG vs WI three-match T20I series, scheduled to take place on Sunday (June 8).

The pair will look to get the visitors off to a flier, having failed to do so in the first game of the series.

Charles and Lewis looked timid in their approach at the top of the order and looked to take the cautious route by keeping wickets in hand in the powerplay.

Lewis especially took his time before getting going in the middle overs while chasing a tricky target of 189 runs, and the acceleration might have come a little too late, as he was dismissed in an attempt to make up for the lost time.

Charles, on the other hand, looked in good touch in the first couple of overs and succeeded in hitting a couple of boundaries, but was outfoxed by Liam Dawson.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Shai Hope (c & wk), Roston Chase, Rovman Powell, Sherfane Rutherford, Jason Holder, Romario Shepherd, Andre Russell

Middle-order batters tried to steady the ship after losing Charles and Captain Shai Hope early, with the likes of Evin Lewis and Roston Chase forming a much-needed partnership.

But the fall of Evin Lewis' wicket proved to be the turning point of the match as the former World Cup winners lost seven wickets for 76 runs after that.

Having said that hard-hitting batter Andre Russell did try to bring West Indies into the game but was dismissed after hitting a couple of boundaries.

The batters, including the trio of Rutherford, Holder, and Shepherd, will have another opportunity to get things right in the upcoming game.

The visitors would have to bat a bit aggressively in the middle overs as that is how modern-day T20 cricket is played. The batters, once they get a start, need to finish the game.

Bowlers: Gudakesh Motie, Alzarri Joseph

Windies would hope to assess the behavior of the pitch as soon as possible, as they took a bit of time to do that in the first T20I and gave away 10-15 extra runs, which proved to be the difference.

Jesin Holder and Alzarro Joseph duo will have to get things right with the new ball for the West Indies to pick at least a couple of early wickets to restrict England to a below-par score.

The fast bowling department will have to create pressure in the initial few overs to make things easy for the spinners in the middle overs.

However, the West Indies would be happy with the way the bowlers pulled things back in the middle overs to stem the flow of runs and keep England under 200.

WI's spin bowling will be handled by Roston Chase and Gudakesh Motie, both of whom did a fine job in the first match.
