In a unique approach from the West Indies Cricket Board, the Women's T20 World Cup squad has been announced by their men's T20 World Cup cricketers. The Women in Maroon will be in pursuit of their second title in Women's World Cup history.
West Indies men did a fair amount of work in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, as they reached the Super-8 stage of the competition. Though they defeated the likes of England in the group stage, they could not manage to register victories against the likes of South Africa and India.
The men's team members stepped forward to name the women's ICC T20 World Cup squad. Skipper Shai Hope revealed Hayley Matthews as the skipper of the team, who would be aiming their first triumph since 2016.

West Indies have named all-rounder Hayley Matthews as the skipper of a West Indies women's side, which looks promising with a fine blend of youth and experience. Matthews will be backed by experience of experienced stars Stefanie Taylor and Deandra Dottin.
