Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has lashed out at Delhi Capitals for their poor outings in the last few games of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He pointed out how the franchise's batting has gone downhill in the second phase of the league.

Delhi Capitals have put themselves in a state of bother in the ongoing IPL 2025. From being on top of the table to struggling to find a place in the top four, the Axar Patel-led side has faced a massive downfall in the league. The franchise has struggled in the last few games and has also faced a lot of criticism.

Delhi Capitals batters have struggled to score runs in the last few games

One of the major reasons behind their poor outings of late has been their batting. Delhi Capitals batters have struggled to score runs as the likes of Faf du Plessis, Abishek Porel, KL Rahul, and others haven't been able to bring their best, which has seen the franchise drop to the fifth spot on the table.

In their most recent game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals had a forgettable outing with the bat. They were left reeling at 29/5 as the opposition bowlers were all over them. However, thankfully for them, rain washed out the game, and it saw both teams sharing one point each.

With one point, Delhi Capitals now need to win all their remaining three games to comfortably make it into the playoffs. However, if they lose two games, they will be out of contention, and it will be a massive development, especially with the way they started the tournament.

KL Rahul has played a few knocks. However, he has gone off the boil - Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra talked about Delhi Capitals' batting lineup, saying that they lost faith in Jake Fraser-McGurk and also others in Faf du Plessis, Karun Nair, and Abishek Porel, who have played well in patches. He also pointed out how KL Rahul has gone off the boil as well. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he said:

"Your batting is not firing. You lost faith in Jake Fraser-McGurk. Faf du Plessis has hardly played one or two knocks. Karun Nair has played one knock. Abishek Porel has played two-and-a-half knocks. KL Rahul has played a few knocks. However, he has gone off the boil.

"After that, Ashutosh Sharma, Vipraj Nigam, Tristan Stubbs and Axar Patel. You weren't supposed to play a punt on them," said Aakash Chopra.

Where is your replacement for Brook? - Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra also criticised Delhi Capitals for not announcing the replacement of Harry Brook. He added that they won't be getting any replacement if they don't rope anyone in the next two days. He said:

"Where is your replacement for Brook? They haven't taken one, and won't get it as well if they don't take it in the next two days. That story has ended for them."

Delhi Capitals will be next seen in action when they take on Punjab Kings on 8th May at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
