The young left-handed all-rounder who also bowls slow left-arm orthodox has been picked as a replacement for the Indian veteran Ravindra Jadeja by the Chennai Super Kings for an unbelievable price for an uncapped player. He was bought for a whopping INR 14.20 crore and became the third costliest player of this mini-auction.

Born in 2005 in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, the young lad went on to play cricket for the Uttar Pradesh state team and represents the Noida Super Kings in the UP T20 League. He played a very crucial role in the UP T20 League and has seemingly earned the spotlight among scouts.
The progress of the 20-year-old has not gone in vain, as the Chennai Super Kings have invested heavily in the UP star as a probable replacement for veteran Ravindra Jadeja. Stephen Fleming might be aiming at shaping his own new Jadeja.
Though the Lucknow Super Giants and the Mumbai Indians started off the bidding race, the Chennai Super Kings extended it further, only to be intruded upon by the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who also seemed to have been heavily interested in the spinner. The bid went as high as INR 14 crore when SRH exited, and CSK took the bid to 14.20 crore to acquire his services.

The UP all-rounder played in 7 innings for Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and signed off with 112 runs at a strike rate of 170 and picked 9 wickets across the tournament.
Prashant Veer, however, played in 9 T20 games in his career and has picked up 12 wickets in his career. He is a true miser with an economy of 6.67, which is fair to match the standards of Ravindra Jadeja.
