West Indies all-rounder Roston Chase produced a magnificent effort on the field during the ongoing game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 against Papua New Guinea (PNG). The second game of the tournament is underway at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

West Indies opted to field first and they have been all over the Papua New Guinea with the ball. Their pacers have bowled magnificently well with the new ball and put the opposition under pressure with their impeccable lines and lengths.

Papua New Guinea skipper Assad Vala looked the only settled batter at the top as he tried to ease into the innings and played some quality shots with the bat. It seemed that he would carry on his bat and take his team to the competitive total. M

But his stay at the crease was cut short by the brilliance of Roston Chase in the field. The all-rounder came up with an acrobatic effort and produced a magnificent catch that made everyone go gaga and lifted the crowd at the Providence Stadium.

During the 6th ball of the 6th over, Alzarri Joesph bowled a short-of-length delivery angled across the left-hander. The batter saw the width and slashed hard and the ball flew towards the backward point and it seemed that it would race away for a four.

But Roston Chase had other plans. He moved to his left and took the catch with both hands. The ball was struck hard and was travelling but Chase made it look easy. He didn't even celebrate as he got up and rolled the ball back to the umpire.

Here’s the video:

Papua New Guinea skipper Assad Vala looked in good touch but couldn’t carry on. He scored 21 runs off 22 balls and hit 2 fours and 1 six in his innings. With his wicket, the team lost their third wicket and were reeling at 34/3.

Roston Chase bowls an economical spell with the ball for the West Indies.

Roston Chase also made his presence felt with the ball for West Indies in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024 against Papua New Guinea (PNG). Although the spinner didn’t pick a wicket he made sure that he bowled an economical spell.

Although Roston Chase failed to pick the wicket, he made sure that he bowled well for his team. He bowled 4 overs and gave away only 26 runs. He held the one end while the pacers chipped in with wickets at the other end.

Alzarri Joesph has looked threatening with the ball as he has picked two wickets while Akeal Hossain has been economical, picking wickets as well. Apart from them, Romario Shepherd, Andre Russell, and Gudakesh Motie had also chipped in. West Indies would be hoping to wrap up the innings as quickly as possible and then chase the target to mark their first win.
