India opener Abhishek Sharma shared an emotional message on Instagram after a disappointing T20I series against Zimbabwe. The left-handed batter admitted he was frustrated with his performances but promised to learn from the experience and come back stronger for Team India.
India, led by Shreyas Iyer, secured a 35-run win in the third and final T20I at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday, July 26. The Men in Blue completed a 3-0 series sweep, following the disappointing tour of the UK. The opener struggled throughout the tour with the bat, managing just 11 runs in three innings.

Abhishek Sharma took to Instagram after the series to share a photo of himself walking off the field with his helmet in hand. The opener admitted his disappointment over his poor run with the bat but thanked fans for their continued support.
"It hurts when you can’t give back what so many people believe you’re capable of. But this game always rewards those who keep showing up. Happy that the team got the win. Will be back stronger," Abhishek Sharma wrote.

The post quickly went viral, receiving more than 600,000 likes and thousands of supportive comments. Abhishek should make a strong comeback in the next series, with several players waiting for opportunities in India's T20I setup.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Stars as India Complete 3-0 Series Sweep
Team India batted first after captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss in the third T20I. Abhishek Sharma fell early again, but 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi anchored the innings with a superb 81 off 49 balls, including four fours and four sixes.
The Men in Blue finished with 192/5 in 20 overs before restricting Zimbabwe to 157/7. Ryan Burl scored an unbeaten 54 runs for the hosts. Mayank Yadav was the pick of the bowlers in India's bowling attack with impressive figures of 3/24.
Vaibhav was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Series for his outstanding performances throughout the tour. Shreyas Iyer also secured his first T20I series whitewash as India's captain.

Blessing Muzarabani enjoyed a dominant series against Abhishek Sharma. The Zimbabwe fast bowler dismissed the left-handed opener in all three matches, including for just two runs in the final T20I.
Abhishek has scored 191 runs in his last 10 T20I innings since the Ireland tour, with one half-century during that period. He also finished the Zimbabwe series with three single-digit scores. Earlier, he managed 141 runs in eight matches at an average of 17.62 during the 2026 T20 World Cup.
It will be interesting to see whether Abhishek continues to feature in India's white-ball plans despite his recent struggles. The opener will hope to regain his form before India's next assignment.
India will next face Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series in New Delhi from September 13 to 17. The team will then travel to Japan for the Asian Games, scheduled from September 24 to October 1, where India have already secured a direct place in the quarterfinals.
