Will Jacks’ IPL 2025 performance
Jacks’ ability with both bat and ball was greatly utilised by the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025. Jacks scored 195 runs in 11 matches at a strike-rate of 129.13. He also took five wickets in IPL 2025.
Jacks was bought by Mumbai at this year’s mega auction, but what he did for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) last year, he didn’t match his performance this time in the MI camp.
Jacks’ replacement in playoffs
Mumbai have already signed Jonny Bairstow as the replacement for Jacks for the IPL playoffs.
"Losing players like Jacks and Rickelton is tough, but bringing in experienced players like Bairstow and Gleeson gives us the balance we need for the playoffs. It's about adapting quickly and making the most of the squad at our disposal." Mumbai Indian head coach Mahela Jayawardene stated.
The second-highest run-getter for Mumbai in this season, Ryan Rickleton, will also be unavailable for the playoffs as the South African cricket board didn’t give NOC to their players for the playoffs.
Richard Gleeson is also signed by the five-time champions for the playoffs, as he will replace Rickleton in the squad.
The two fresh faces in the playoffs might help them chase their record-breaking sixth title in the IPL.
Mumbai are in the fourth spot in the points table and they have only two matches left in the league stage. The last two games are must-win for the Mumbai Indians for their qualification in the playoffs.
Mumbai will also receive big blow as Corbin Bosch will also won’t be available for the playoffs. He will be travelling back to South Africa for their World Test Championship final practice.
According to the reports, Charith Asalanka might be filling up his role in the squad. The Sri Lankan T20I skipper will be making his debut in the Indian Premier League.
