Women's CPL 2025 set to kick off in Guyana on September 6

The fourth edition of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) is reportedly scheduled to commence on September 6. According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, all matches, including the summit clash on September 17, are scheduled to take place at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
Guyana Amazon Warriors, 2022 champions Trinbago Knight Riders, and defending champions Barbados Royals will compete in the WCPL 2025. The Royals, who have been the tournament's top team, defeated the Knight Riders by four wickets in the 2024 final held at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.
Guyana Set to Host 2025 Women’s Caribbean Premier League for the First Time
A total of seven matches, including the final, in the 2025 Women’s CPL will be played in Guyana. Trinbago Knight Riders, Guyana Amazon Warriors, and defending champions Barbados Royals will each play four league games (two against each opponent).
The league stage will span 11 days, followed by the final on the next day. All matches will be played in the afternoon. Four games, including the final, will start at 2 PM local time. Two matches will begin at 3 PM, and one at 4 PM.

WCPL Is a Hugely Important Part of Our Cricketing Calendar - CWI CEO
Cricket West Indies CEO Chris Dehring said that the Women’s Caribbean Premier League is growing in the cricketing landscape. He noted that women’s cricket is expanding each year and also expressed excitement about Caribbean players competing alongside international stars.
"Women's cricket continues to grow year on year, and the WCPL is a hugely important part of our cricketing calendar. We are looking forward to seeing the best Caribbean talent play alongside fantastic players from around the world in what we are sure will be an excellent event," Chris Dehring said.
The Women’s Caribbean Premier League was first held in 2022 in Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis. Trinidad and Tobago hosted the 2023 and 2024 editions at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy. Guyana Amazon Warriors will have home advantage in the upcoming season.
Barbados Royals have been the most successful side, finishing as runners-up in 2022 before winning back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024. TKR won the inaugural edition and were finalists in 2024, while the Guyana Amazon Warriors placed third in 2022 and 2024 and were runners-up in 2023.
Barbados Royals skipper Hayley Matthews is the most successful player in Women’s Caribbean Premier League history. She is the tournament's top run-scorer and wicket-taker, with 424 runs and 23 wickets to her name.
