On Monday, August 26, the International Cricket Council (ICC) finally revealed updated fixtures for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024, which is all set to commence in October.

The competition was scheduled to be hosted by Bangladesh, but the ICC was forced to make a late call and shift the tournament.

Women's T20 World Cup 2024 was moved out of Bangladesh due to the political turmoil in the country and the travel advisories were also imposed by the governments of some participating teams.

In the end, ICC finalized the United Arab Emirates as the host country. Despite the competition not being held in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will act as the official host.

Meanwhile, the ninth edition of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup will be played across two different venues in Dubai and Sharjah. A total of 23 matches will be played in the tournament.

There have been no changes made to groups by the ICC as Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka have been placed in Group A while South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Scotland form Group B.

Notably, Sri Lanka and Scotland qualified for the marquee tournament via the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament, which was held in Abu Dhabi earlier this year.

Meanwhile, the classic format will be followed in the tournament this time around as well as each team will play 4 group stage games and the teams who will finish in the top two will book their spots in the semi-finals.

Just like the Men's ICC T20 World Cup 2024, a separate condition has been set for Team India as if they qualify for the semi-finals, they would feature in semi-final 1 irrespective of their finish at No.1 or No.2 position. The India Women's National Cricket Team would be eager to get the job done following the men's team's recent T20 World Cup win in the Caribbean.

Meanwhile, the semi-finals of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup are scheduled to be held on October 17 and 18. Both the semi-finals will have a reserve day. Also, the final will be held on October 20, which also will have a reserve day.

Ahead of the main tournament, the ICC has staged 10 warm-up matches that will help the teams prepare for the competition. Warm-up matches will be held from September 28 through to October 1.

Group A: Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
