New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has unveiled the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024.

This event is set to kick off on October 3 in the UAE, where the NZC is sending a team packed with experienced and promising young talent to leave their mark on the global stage.

One of the biggest highlights of the New Zealand Women’s squad is the return of fast bowler Rosemary Mair, who is set to make a comeback after suffering a back injury earlier this year during a home series against England in March 2024.

Mair’s return after recovery added depth and strength to New Zealand's pace attack, featuring Lea Tahuhu, Jess Kerr, Hannah Rowe, and rising star Molly Penfold.

Mair's return is a big plus for the White Ferns, as they are aiming to make a strong push in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

New Zealand women’s cricket team captain Sophie Devine and veteran batter Suzie Bates are ready to play their ninth Women’s T20 World Cup.

Having featured in every edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup, Devine and Bates’ vast experience and leadership will be key to New Zealand's ambitions to win the ICC title in the UAE.

New Zealand’s squad also boasted a versatile spin attack, with the likes of Leigh Kasperek, Melie Kerr, Fran Jonas, and Eden Carson providing a formidable array of bowling options in the upcoming mega event.

Spin is expected to play a key role in the UAE's conditions, and New Zealand has ensured they are well-equipped in this department for the mega event.

Izzy Gaze set to make her T20 World Cup debut

In addition to the experienced core, Kiwi wicketkeeper-batter Izzy Gaze is the only player who will be making her T20 World Cup debut. Meanwhile, New Zealand’s batting lineup will heavily rely on the star all-rounder Amelia Kerr.

Renowned for her skills both as a batter and bowler, Kerr will play a key role in the middle order in the upcoming tournament.

Alongside her, the experienced Maddy Green and the reliable Brooke Halliday will be crucial with the bat, as they aim to deliver strong performances in the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, where the White Ferns will face India in their first match on October 4 in Dubai.

As New Zealand gears up for the tournament, the team’s mix of experience and fresh energy sets the stage for an exciting campaign.

With a strong blend of talent across all departments, they are well-positioned to make a significant impact in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Notably, New Zealand is scheduled to tour Australia for a three-match T20I series ahead of the upcoming mega event.

The same squad will tour Australia for the T20I series, which will take place on September 19, 22, and 24 in Mackay and Brisbane, offering great preparation for the mega event.
