WPL 2025: 6, 6, 6! Watch – Ashleigh Gardner destroys Smriti Mandhana's RCB and scripts history

The 27-year-old Australia Women's National Cricket Team and Gujarat Giants Women all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner went berserk against Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women in the WPL 2025 season-opener.

Ashleigh Gardner hits 79 off 37

Gardner was handed the captaincy responsibility just ahead of the start of the competition, and she seems to be enjoying the added responsibility on her shoulders.

She came out to bat at the No.4 position and went all out against the RCB-W bowlers right from the start. The Aussie star took the bowlers to the cleaners and smashed them all over the part.

She completed her fifty off just 25 balls and was involved in an amazing 67-run partnership with Dottin off 31 balls. The run rate of 12.96 between Gardner and Dottin was the highest for a Gujarat Giants Women's pair in a 50+ run stand in the history of the league.

Gardner, particularly, went berserk in the 14th over of the innings against Prema Rawat. She smashed the bowler for a hat-trick of sixes to increase the trouble for RCB-W.

On the third ball of the over, she smashed a six on the long off before hitting a six over mid-wicket and over deep square.

Ashleigh Gardner finished with the innings of 79 runs off 37 balls, with 3 fours and 8 sixes, as Gujarat Giants Women registered 201 for 5.

Gardner didn't stop there as in the next innings, she provided early breakthroughs to her team by dismissing Smriti Mandhana and Danni Wyatt-Hodge.
