WPL 2025: Mumbai Indians unveil new jersey

Mumbai Indians (MI) have unveiled their brand new jersey for the upcoming Women's Premier League 2025 season. The inaugural WPL champions have not made any significant changes to the jersey from the previous season and retained blue as the jersey's primary color but added a rock-like pattern.
Mumbai Indians Women were the inaugural champions of the WPL. The Mumbai-based team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, won the WPL 2023 title by defeating Delhi Capitals Women in the final. However, they crashed out in the Eliminator last season but will look to add another WPL trophy to their cabinet.

Mumbai Indians unveiled their new jersey for the upcoming season through a post on their official X (formerly known as Twitter) account.
The team also shared the significance of the colors used. Notably, The rock-like pattern is inspired by the city's coastline, while the trademark blue represents trust and confidence, and the gold signifies ambition.
"New season, fresh drip! 😎💙 Inspired by the city’s ever-enduring coastline, the jersey’s rock-like pattern highlights the city and team's resilience and strength and their constant pursuit of greatness," MI captioned the post.
"MI's trademark blue symbolises trust and confidence, the gold showcases ambition, and both these combine with the coral to boldly declare - Mumbai chi Mulgi #AaliRe! #MumbaiIndians #OneFamily," the post added.

The Mumbai Indians Women's squad for WPL 2025 includes prominent players like Harmanpreet Kaur, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Amelia Kerr, Pooja Vastrakar, Yastika Bhatia, Hayley Matthews, and Shabnim Ismail. The team is expected to receive strong support from their fans at the stadiums during the tournament.
Mumbai Indians Made Statement Signings at the WPL 2025 Auction
Mumbai Indians made several key signings during the WPL 2025 auction. Their first acquisition was South African all-rounder Nadine de Klerk for Rs 30 lakh, who previously played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The most expensive signing of the auction was 16-year-old wicketkeeper G Kamalini, who was bought for Rs 1.6 crore after a bidding battle with Delhi Capitals. Kamalini impressed with her performance in the 2024 U-19 Women's Asia Cup.
MI also signed uncapped batter Sanskriti Gupta for her base price of Rs 10 lakh and secured all-rounder Akshita Maheshwari for Rs 20 lakh in the final stage of the auction.
The BCCI reportedly shortlisted Lucknow and Baroda as potential venues for WPL 2025, set to begin on February 6 or 7. The tournament will be held in two phases, with Lucknow hosting the first leg and Baroda the second, including the final clash. The full schedule and venues are yet to be confirmed.
