Indian Test wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha has tested Covid positive for the second time.
Saha, who represented SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021, was one of the many players who tested positive for the Wuhan virus that triggered the suspension of the cash-rich league for an indefinite period of time.
But even after staying in isolation for two weeks, Wriddhiman Saha seems to not have recovered from the contagion.
However, according to his interview in Anandbazar Patrika, the veteran stumper does not have symptoms of body ache or fever.
In an interview given to the same publication earlier, Wriddhiman Saha had said that he had recovered from the disease but as things stand, the Bengal keeper will have to continue his isolation in Delhi.
Saha also opened up about his and his family’s reaction when he had initially tested positive.
The wicketkeeper-batsman said that he was certainly scared initially, as was his family.
“I was certainly scared. A virus that has brought the Earth to a standstill, after being infected by it, I was bound to feel scared. Everyone in the family was very worried. We reassured them through video calls that there is no reason to be afraid. I am being taken care of enough,” said Wriddhiman Saha in an interview with Anandabazar Patrika.
Wriddhiman Saha has been named in the Indian squad for the upcoming tour of England but he traveling to the United Kingdom depends on him testing negative from Covid as the BCCI has clearly stayed that players who test positive for the virus after the squad congregates in Mumbai before departure wouldn’t be considered for the England tour.
