Just months after Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) IPL 2025 title win, fast bowler Yash Dayal has found himself in a serious controversy. A woman has filed an FIR against the 27-year-old in Uttar Pradesh, accusing him of mental, emotional, and physical exploitation under the pretext of marriage.
Dayal was one of only three players retained by the franchise, alongside Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar, before the IPL 2025 mega auction. The left-arm pacer delivered decent performances in RCB’s maiden IPL title win. Dayal finished the season with 13 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 36.15.
Yash Dayal Accused of Physical Violence and Sexual Harassment
According to India Today, she first contacted the women’s helpline on June 14, then filed a complaint through the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s online portal (IGRS). In response, the CM's office directed the Circle Officer of Indirapuram to submit a detailed report.
The Ghaziabad police have been given a deadline of July 21 to act on the matter. Notably, the FIR stated that the woman was in a relationship with Yash Dayal, during which he allegedly promised marriage but exploited her mentally and physically.
"For the past 5 years, the complainant had been in a relationship with the cricketer. The man emotionally, mentally, and physically exploited her by misleading her with the promise of marriage," the FIR read (via India Today).
"He introduced the complainant to his family and behaved like a husband, which made her trust him completely. When the complainant realized the deception and protested, she was subjected to physical violence and mental harassment. During the relationship, the complainant was also exploited financially and emotionally."
Complainant Mentally and Socially Distressed, Seeks Justice via CM’s Office
The woman also revealed that Yash Dayal had been involved in relationships with multiple women. She stated that the lack of action left her mentally and socially distressed, prompting her to approach the Chief Minister’s office in pursuit of justice.
"Later, it was found that the man was involved in similar false relationships with other girls too. On June 14, 2025, the complainant called the women's helpline 181, but the process did not move forward at the police station. The complainant is mentally and socially distressed, and is seeking justice through the Chief Minister’s office," the statement continued.
She Has Chat Records and Photos as Evidence, Says Complainant
The complainant stated that she has chats, screenshots, video call records, and photographs to support her allegations against Yash Dayal. She urged authorities to conduct an investigation and take legal action.
"She has chat records, screenshots, video calls, and photos as evidence. It has been requested that a swift investigation be conducted into the matter and that legal action be taken against the concerned individual. This step is not only important for her but also for all those girls who fall victim to such deceitful relationships."
