Former cricketer Rashid Latif took a subtle dig at Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis over their criticism of the Pakistan National Cricket Team's poor performances in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He made a bold statement, saying that Dubai boys have created a ruckus.

Pakistan National Cricket Team had a poor outing in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Mohammad Rizwan-led side faced a group stage exit in the tournament as they failed to win a single game, ending last on the points table in Group A and becoming the first host nation to be eliminated without winning a single game.

Pakistan National Cricket Team looked absolutely poor with the bat and ball in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Mohammad Rizwan-led side first faced a loss to the New Zealand National Cricket Team and then suffered a poor defeat against the India National Cricket Team before their last league game got washed out.

With Pakistan struggling terribly in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, former cricketers in Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, who have stationed themselves in the UAE for broadcasting duties, didn't go easy on the team. They criticized the players, along with management, for their off-field as well as on-field antics.

With Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis lashing out at Pakistan, Rashid Latif first targeted the duo while speaking to Geo News. He said that 90s players should be kept away from the management and from the team and it's time for them to rest. He explained:

“It took 17 years [for Pakistan to win another World Cup] because the 90s players did not spare Pakistan cricket. Keep 90s players away from management and from the team as well then they will try to win. They have been serving Pakistan cricket for so long now. So, I think they should rest now.”

Rashid Latif then, in an interaction on the YouTube channel 'Caught Behind,' went hard at Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. He said that Dubai boys have created a ruckus, and all they have to do is praise themselves. He concluded by saying that they would do anything for money. He elaborated:

"Yeh Dubai ke laundon ne tabahi pehla diya hai. Dono ek dusre ke taarifen kar kar ke khush ho raha hai. Zindagi bhar ladte rahe, hume aag me phek diya aur...kamal log hai. Inke aage paisa phenko, yeh kuch bhi kardenge (Dubai boys have created a ruckus. They are happy praising each other. They fought throughout their career, which hurt Pakistan cricket...interesting people. Throw money in front of them; they will do anything),"

Pakistan National Cricket Team will be next seen in action when they will tour New Zealand. The Men in Green will be playing five T20Is followed by three ODIs, beginning on March 16.
