Virat Kohli thanked MS Dhoni and Ravi Shastri in his resignation announcement
Having taken over from MS Dhoni back in the 2014-15 Australian tour, Kohli has come a long way. He has turned India into one of the best touring teams in the world by backing a pace battery that has won them games single-handedly. Alongside Ravi Shastri, he built a team that is feared everywhere it tours.
“To Ravi Bhai and the support group who were the engine behind this vehicle that moved us upwards in Test cricket consistently, you all have played a massive role in bringing this vision to life. Lastly, a big thank you to MS Dhoni who believed in me as a captain and found me to be an able individual who could take Indian Cricket forward,” Kohli wrote.
Unfortunately for India, they currently do not have any potential options to take over in Test cricket apart from Rohit Sharma. Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul are being considered for the role but the duo is quite inexperienced for the part.
