Former Pakistan player Salman Butt criticised Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja for his approach towards individuals and blamed him for being arrogant. Raja was elected unopposed as PCB chairman in September last year.

With Imran Khan’s ouster from Pakitan’s Prime Minister post, Raja was considering stepping down from the PCB chair. However, reports have suggested that the 59-year-old is likely to remain in power with the Pakistan board.

Ramiz Raja still needs to be nice to people: Salman Butt

Butt slammed Raja for not behaving nice with people involved in the game of cricket and accused him of interfering in matters out of his jurisdiction.

“Even if Ramiz Raja has a lot of achievements, you still need to be nice to people. You can’t be know-all and arrogant. The way he talks, it feels like an army chief from a rival is speaking,” Butt said on his YouTube channel.

“Sikander Bhakt was Pakistan’s best commentator. He was first asked to do Urdu commentary during PSL, then he was doing the presentation ceremony when a big team was visiting.

“I have also heard that he removed Waleed Khan at one point, but he had the muscle to come back. Who are you and what have you done that you don’t consider anyone anything,” he added.

Ramiz Raja used to ask Babar Azam to let him see the pitch on a video call: Salman Butt

During Pakistan’s Tests series against Australia last month, PCB drew flak for preparing dead pitches that couldn’t produce adequate results in the first two matches. Ramiz was the scapegoat of critics and media personnel. Butt said that Ramiz used to check the conditions of the pitch with Pakistan skipper Babar Azam.

“He used to ask Babar to let him see the pitch on a video call. He interferes in the team’s affairs a lot. It is the height of interference. Whether it’s the pitch, the team or even the selection of commentators. Fear god. Where is the professionalism? Where else in the world do you see such things happening?” Butt said.

Pakistan will host the rescheduled three-match ODI series against West Indies in June, the first ODI will kick off on June 8 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
