Rohit Sharma is just two wins away from creating history. He can become only the second India captain after the legendary MS Dhoni to lead the team to a T20 World Cup title.

The right-handed batsman was a part of the team that won India's first and to date only T20 World Cup title way back in 2007 but is yet to lay his hands on the trophy as a captain. In fact, he is yet to win any ICC trophy as a captain. Last year, he came close but India ended up on the losing side of both the finals - the WTC and the ODI World Cup.

India have done extremely well in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024 so far and Rohit Sharma is desperately hoping that he manages to lead the team to glory. For that to happen, India will have to first beat England in the semifinal. And the game will definitely bring back the memories of the last meeting between the two teams.

You learn from the mistakes: Rohit Sharma

The last T20I match between India and England was the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinal. England had inflicted a humiliating 10-wicket defeat on India before going on to beat Pakistan in the final. With India looking to avenge that embarrassing loss, their captain Rohit Sharma has said that his team has learned its lessons and will be looking to do things differently in the upcoming game.

"The last T20 World Cup, obviously we fell short with the bat. You learn from the mistakes that you make in every game that you play and you try and improve that. You try and come out as a better player and then play as a team, a better team," said Rohit Sharma in a video posted by the ICC.

"There are a few things that we have discussed that we want to do slightly differently, from what we did last time around. We play a lot of T20 cricket. Everyone knows exactly what is expected and what needs to be done to win games, to win tournaments," he added.
