Allrounder Ramandeep Singh has made a stunning revelation that he could have earned much more had he agreed to leave KKR ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. While making this claim, Ramandeep also launched a scathing attack on his former KKR captain Shreyas Iyer.

Iyer was the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders which won the title last year and Ramandeep Singh was also a part of that team. However, Iyer decided to leave the franchise and go to the auction pool.

As a result, KKR didn't retain him and he fetched a massive amount of INR 26.75 crore from another franchise Punjab Kings in the auction. He was later appointed their captain for IPL 2025.

Ramandeep Singh speaks on not leaving KKR

During a podcast on the 'Raj Shamani' YouTube channel, Ramandeep Singh revealed that he was offered big amounts from the other franchises to leave KKR and join them. But the allrounder refused to do so as he wanted to remain loyal to a franchise that has helped him.

"You can't leave a franchise at such a time that has helped you so much. If you're leaving it for money, then it will be totally wrong. Other franchises were interested in me and told me that they are going to bid for me at this particular amount," said Ramandeep.

"But I didn't want to take this decision just for money because when I wasn't such a (renowned) player, this franchise (KKR) supported me and I wanted to support them back," he added.

Ramandeep made his name while playing for KKR which also earned him an international debut. He made his IPL debut in 2022 while playing for Mumbai Indians but his breakthrough season came in 2024 while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders.

How much was Ramandeep Singh offered by other franchises?

While speaking further in the podcast, Ramandeep Singh made a sparkling revelation that the other franchises were willing to bid till INR 10 crore for him. But the allrounder showed his loyalty and didn't leave KKR when they needed him the most

"The franchises had informed me that they will go till INR 10 Cr for me. But I just wanted to play for them (KKR). I feel that IPL is such a platform where opportunities are very important. So, you need to give loyalty to a franchise if it is backing you. Money doesn't matter that much," Ramandeep said.

While taking a dig at Shreyas Iyer, Ramandeep mentioned that if a player leaves a franchise just for money, then it shows his character. He further revealed his ambition to win a World Cup for India.

"Obviously, there are some players for whom money matters. But you've also played for INR 20 lakh for a team and if you're leaving a team for some money, it will show your character to them. I didn't have the vision to earn money. I just wanted to represent India and win a World Cup," the allrounder added.

Ramandeep Singh's IPL 2025 price

Ramandeep Singh was retained by KKR for INR 4 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. He had a fantastic season last year as he scored 125 runs at an average of 31.25 and a blistering strike rate of 201.61.

Ramandeep played the role of a finisher to perfection by scoring some useful runs down the order. He also made his T20I debut in South Africa in November 2024 on the back of his performances in the IPL.
