Yuvraj Singh announces cricket comeback, set to play under this legend

Two-time World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh is set to return to the field and will play for the India Masters team in the inaugural season of the International Masters League (IML). Yuvraj Singh will join the India Masters team led by legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, featuring other former Indian players.

Indian cricket fans can look forward to a nostalgic experience as legendary players from the past will return to the cricket field. The International Masters League has announced the schedule for its inaugural season, featuring six teams: India, Australia, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies.

Feels Like Reliving the Glory Days - Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh expressed his excitement about returning to the field with the India Masters team, calling it a nostalgic experience. He stated that playing alongside Sachin Tendulkar and his former teammates feels like reliving the glory days. Yuvraj said he is eager to create new memories for the fans.

“Taking the field with Sachin (Tendulkar) and my other teammates feels like reliving the glory days," Yuvraj said as quoted from a release by IML.

“Playing alongside all of them brings back so many memories. For me, the IML is a tribute to the era that defined Indian cricket, and I can’t wait to create some more unforgettable memories for all the fans who have supported us over the years."

Yuvraj Singh, who retired from all forms of international cricket in 2019, played a pivotal role in the India cricket team's victories in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 50-over World Cup. The southpaw was named Player of the Tournament in the 2011 World Cup, scoring 362 runs and taking 15 wickets.

Representing South Africa Masters Is a Huge Honour - JP Duminy

JP Duminy said that representing South Africa Masters in the inaugural season of the International Masters is a great honor. Duminy said that he is looking forward to competing alongside legendary players. He assured fans that the tournament would be thrilling and highly entertaining.

“Representing South Africa Masters in season one of the International Masters League is a huge honour. I am looking forward to playing in a tournament that will feature the greats of the game. Cricket fans can rest assured that the cricket they will witness, will be riveting and exhilarating," Duminy said.

Old Friends and Rivals Will Take the Field - Upul Tharanga

Speaking on his inclusion in the Sri Lanka Masters squad, Upul Tharanga stated that the International Masters League will be a great platform for former teammates and rivals to showcase memorable cricket.

"I look forward to representing Sri Lanka Masters in the inaugural season of the International Masters League. The IML will be a great tournament, in which old friends and rivals will take the field and produce memorable cricket," Tharanga stated.
