India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is currently working very closely with former legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh in the nets ahead of the upcoming IPL 2026 season. The two were seen having serious discussions in the nets, with a clear focus on sharpening the LSG captain's overall batting approach.

Earlier in January, Pant suffered a side strain after being hit above the waist by a throwdown specialist just before a home ODI series against New Zealand. The left-handed batter was ruled out of the home series. He is not part of the Indian squad for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026 on home soil.

Rishabh Pant was the most expensive player in IPL history when the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bought him and appointed him as their captain. However, he has not been picked for the T20I side since the World Cup 2024. He needs to deliver with performances in the IPL 2026 to get back into contention.

According to recent reports, Yuvraj has been actively mentoring Pant during training sessions. The former World Cup winner has always supported Pant's aggressive playing style.

Yuvraj, who retired in June 2019 and was the Player of the Tournament in the 2011 World Cup, previously helped Sanju Samson before the World Cup. His training sessions are helping Pant enter IPL 2026 in peak form.

Lucknow Super Giants Begin IPL 2026 Preparations with New Coaching Setup

Lucknow Super Giants have already started their preparation camp, with Justin Langer joining the side to ensure the players are at their best. The franchise has made several staff changes, parting ways with mentor Zaheer Khan after just one season.

They have signed Bharat Arun as the bowling coach and Carl Crowe as the spin-bowling coach. Kane Williamson has also stepped in as a strategic advisor to add more experience to the team.

With Zaheer gone, there are rumors that LSG want Yuvraj Singh to become the new mentor of the side. The franchise was in serious talks to make Yuvraj their head coach last year; however, they failed to sign him.

Rishabh Pant Looks to Bounce Back for LSG in IPL 2026

Rishabh Pant had a disappointing season for the Lucknow Super Giants last year. He failed to deliver with the bat throughout most of the tournament and was under the scanner for his captaincy as the team did not perform well.

However, he ended the season on a positive note by smashing a brilliant century against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Despite his past struggles, the LSG management has shown enough faith in him, and the left-hander is working very hard ahead of the new season.

With the official IPL schedule set to be released in the coming days, Pant and his team will be very keen to bounce back and have a good season this time around.
