Yuzvendra Chahal breaks silence for first time amid divorce rumors with Dhanashree Verma

India legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal's life looks set to take a turn after the recent divorce rumors with his wife Dhanashree Verma. The rumors took social media by storm as the users expressed their sentiments towards the legspinner.

But the topic triggered again when Chahal posted a puzzling story on social media in which he wrote about all the hard work that he has done to get to this point. While he didn't mention Dhanashree's name, he might have taken an indirect dig at her.

Yuzvendra Chahal's posts cryptic Instagram story

After his divorce rumors flooded the social media by storm, Yuzvendra Chahal posted a cryptic story on Instagram which has left his fans confused. In the story, he spoke about the hard work and going through pain to achieve success in life.

He didn't mention about his wife Dhanashree Verma in this story but didn't forget to mention about the sacrifices of his father and mother.

"Hard work spotlights the character of people. You know your journey. You know your pain. You know what all you have done to reach here. The world knows. You stand tall. You have worked with all your sweat to make your father and your mother proud. Keep standing tall like a proud son always," Chahal's story read.

How did the rumors begin?

The rumors of the divorce between Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma actually began when both celebrities unfollowed each other on social media on January 4 (Saturday). A few reports claimed that their divorce was unavoidable because of the huge differences between the two of them.

Chahal has removed all the pictures with Dhanashree on social media which further fuelled these rumors. However, Dhanashree hasn't done so and still has pictures with Chahal on her account

Yuzvendra Chahal tied the knot with Dhanashree Verma in December 2020. Their love story began when Chahal joined Dhanashree's dance classes. Dhanashree is also a dance choreographer. Both became good friends when Chahal started attending the classes and it blossomed into love.

Yuzvendra Chahal's last international match

Yuzvendra Chahal has been out of the Indian team for a while now. He was in India's squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 where they lifted the trophy. However, he didn't play any games in the tournament.

Since then, he has been sidelined by the new team management led by the head coach Gautam Gambhir. His last international match was more than a year ago in August 2023 when he played a T20I against West Indies at Lauderhill.

Despite being out of the national team, Chahal has been performing quite well wherever he gets an opportunity. The 34-year-old is still one of the top spinners in the IPL and was among the most expensive players of the tournament this season.

He was signed up by Punjab Kings for a massive amount of INR 18 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The legspinner earlier used to play for Rajasthan Royals but wasn't retained by the franchise.
