India and Punjab Kings (PBKS) leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has found himself in the middle of a social media storm amid the ongoing IPL 2026, as the bold actress Taniya Chatterjee claimed that he had sent her a direct message on Instagram.
A viral video has dragged Yuzvendra Chahal into the fresh controversy, and fans are reacting strongly. In the viral clip, Taniya publicly exposed Chahal by claiming to have received a message from him. However, the PBKS bowler has not yet reacted to her claims.

The actress, who is known for her bold roles in Ullu and Gandii Baat, revealed that the spinner had sent her a direct message on Instagram reacting to one of her photos. In that Instagram message, Chahal said, "Aap cute ho (You’re cute)," as claimed by the actress.

In the viral clip, the actor is seen showing her phone to paparazzi, sharing a chat window that she claims is with Chahal. When asked whether she responded to the cricketer, Taniya said that she had seen the DM quite late, so she didn’t reply to Chahal.
Taniya, who has become quite popular on OTT platforms because of her bold roles and viral videos on social media, can be seen blushing when the cameramen are teasing. The video went viral on social media in no time, and it became one of the most talked-about dramas online.

After the video went viral, many social media users started criticizing Yuzvendra Chahal and slamming his behavior, while some questioned whether the video and claims were real or not. Many are calling the actress cheap and this a stunt to make headlines, citing the AI world.
This incident has put Chahal’s personal life into the spotlight once again. After his split from Dhanashree Verma in 2025, the Haryana spinner has always been in online discussions and rumors. Earlier, his name was linked to RJ Mahvash, and later they quietly separated.
Yuzvendra Chahal leads PBKS spin attack in IPL 2026
On the professional front, Chahal is not currently part of the Indian cricket team and hasn’t played for the country since 2023. In the ongoing IPL 2026, the leg-spinner is playing for Punjab Kings and continues to be the main spin option for the team in the middle overs.
He has so far taken 3 wickets in 4 matches so far in the tournament. However, Chahal is still the highest wicket-taker in IPL history with 224 wickets. He was retained by the PBKS for INR 18 crore.
Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, PBKS has been dominating the IPL 2026, winning three of their four games so far in the tournament. Their one game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was washed out.
Currently, they are ranked second on the table with 7 points and a positive NRR. The Punjab Kings will now face Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 16 at the Wankhede Stadium in their next IPL 2026 clash.
