Bangladesh to miss skipper Mahmudullah in T20Is

Bangladesh is coming fresh from thumping West Indies 3-0 in the ODI series but lost 0-2 in the shortest format in the Caribbean. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have opted to rest regular T20I skipper Mahmudullah and wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan will lead the tourists in his absence.

Senior player Mushfiqur Rahim was not included in the T20I squad but was named in the ODI squad of the Zimbabwe tour. Veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has opted out of the limited-overs tour and might return to lead the side in the Asia Cup next month.

Zimbabwe and Bangladesh will play the first T20I match on Saturday (July 30) at Harare Sports Club, the venue for all six white-ball matches. Following the conclusion of the T20Is, both teams will meet in three One-Day Internationals starting on August 5.
