Zimbabwe Cricket announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, which begins on July 15 in Bulawayo. Left-arm pacer Newman Nyamhuri and top-order batter Milton Shumba have earned recalls to the squad for the home series.

The three-match T20I series will be played at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on July 15, 17, and 19. Sikandar Raza will continue to captain the 15-member squad in Zimbabwe's first T20I assignment since reaching the Super Eight stage of the 2026 T20 World Cup with memorable wins over Australia and Sri Lanka.

Zimbabwe Name 15-member Squad for Bangladesh T20I Series

The selectors made only a few changes to the squad that reached the Super Eight at the 2026 T20 World Cup. Newman Nyamhuri and Milton Shumba earned places in the squad, while Ben Curran retained his spot after joining the World Cup squad as an injury replacement for Brendan Taylor.

Convener of selectors David Mutendera said the selectors wanted to keep the core group together after Zimbabwe's impressive World Cup campaign.

He said:

"The T20 World Cup showed what this group is capable of, so continuity was an important consideration for us. We wanted to keep together the core of a squad that reached the Super Eight while also creating room for players who have earned their opportunities. This series gives the team another opportunity to keep growing as we continue building towards the major international tournaments ahead."

Newman Nyamhuri and Milton Shumba Named in Zimbabwe Squad

Newman Nyamhuri heads into the series in excellent form after impressive performances for Zimbabwe. The 20-year-old fast bowler, who made his international debut in 2024, took six wickets in Zimbabwe's one-off Test win over Bangladesh before returning figures of 2/22 in the opening ODI.

Milton Shumba has returned to the T20I squad for the first time since the 2022 T20 World Cup. The top-order batter earned his recall after finishing as the leading run-scorer in Zimbabwe's domestic T20 competition, scoring 223 runs in eight matches.

Nyamhuri is in line to make his T20I debut, while Ben Curran could also earn his first cap in the format. Zimbabwe hope the young players will strengthen a squad that impressed during the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Key changes to Zimbabwe's T20I squad

Zimbabwe have made only a few changes to the squad that reached the Super Eight at the 2026 T20 World Cup. Leg-spinner Graeme Cremer misses the series after suffering a left-arm fracture, while veteran wicketkeeper-batter Brendan Taylor has been left out of the squad.

Middle-order batter Tony Munyonga is another notable omission from the World Cup squad. The three-match T20I series will conclude Bangladesh's white-ball tour of Zimbabwe after the ongoing ODI series.

Zimbabwe Squad for Bangladesh T20Is:

Sikandar Raza (captain), Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Ben Curran, Brad Evans, Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Tashinga Musekiwa, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, Newman Nyamhuri, Milton Shumba.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh wicketkeeper Litton Das has been ruled out of the remaining ODI matches against Zimbabwe due to a hamstring injury, with Parvez Hossain Emon named as his replacement in the Bangladesh squad.
