Commentary
Table of Contents
The third and final game of the ongoing three-match ODI series between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan will take place on Saturday (December 21). The game is scheduled to take place at the Harare Sports Club, Harare.
Afghanistan have taken an unassailable lead in the series by winning the second ODI. After the first ODI was washed out, the visitors thrashed the hosts by 232 runs in the second ODI to go 1-0 up.
Batting first, Afghanistan posted a competitive total of 286/6 in the allotted 50 overs. Openers Sediqullah Atal and Abdul Malik impressed with the bat for the tourists. Atal scored 104 while Malik scored 84 runs while also adding 191 runs for the first wicket.
In reply, Zimbabwe were bowled out for just 54 runs. Only two of their players - Sikandar Raza (19*) and Sean Williams (16) - managed to reach double digits with the bat. For Afghanistan, AM Ghazanfar and Naveed Zadran picked up three wickets each.
