Used to be the finisher of India, especially, when MS Dhoni is away from the game. The knock he played in Sri Lanka against Bangladesh is still fresh in the heart of the fans. Surprisingly, the board selectors are keeping him away from the T20I format.

Dinesh Karthik has been in the limited-overs squad for quite some time. However, he has lacked an extended run which has made the life hard for the wicket-keeper batsman. Karthik was in the World Cup squad and played only one game where he failed to leave an impact.

Perhaps, the board wants to look at Sanju Samson, who has been knocking the runs for a while now. His performance in the Bangladesh series will confirm the future of Dinesh Karthik.

2. Ishan Kishan:

The youngster from Jharkhand would have been a perfect suit in the Indian batting lineup. However, unfortunately, he failed to impress the selectors.  He already got skills to perform under pressure, as he led teams on numerous occasions and also played well in IPL.

Ishan Kishan, who captains Jharkhand in the domestic circuit, has been touted to have a great future in international cricket and is seen as one of the potential replacements of veteran Dhoni. But, the board confirmed that they are looking after Rishabh Pant as the long-time candidate to stay in the team.

1. Mayank Agarwal:

One of the in-form players to stay away from the team. In fact, he is yet to get his maiden cap in limited-overs cricket. With the kind of form he is in Test cricket, one would have expected his call-up to the Indian team. But, unfortunately, it wasn’t the case.

Mayank Agarwal has been the most consistent run-scorer in the domestic circuit. Although he made his Test debut in Australia, Agarwal has to wait for his debut in the limited-overs cricket. With fresh faces coming into the squad, many expected Agarwal to get a nod considering his conversion rate in List A cricket. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the case.
