Getting to the top of ICC rankings is a big achievement for any player. If we talk about the current ICC rankings in T20Is, there is only 1 Indian batsman in the top 10 categories. Among bowlers too, only 1 Indian makes it to the top 10. Among all-rounders, there is no Indian player in the top 10 places.

Reaching the top of ICC rankings requires a little bit of luck and a lot of hard work. Many Indian players have grabbed the top spot in ICC rankings in the past and grabbed the stupendous achievement in their kitties. However, there were times when some players failed to reach the top spot by an inch. Here we take a glance at 3 Indian batters who have been at the number 2 spot in ICC T20I rankings but couldn’t get to the no.1 spot.
