The swashbuckling opener is currently in the twilight of his career. Murali Vijay, who has been India’s No 1 Test batsman in the last few years, lost his place in the playing XI owing to consistent poor performances.

He has been a reserve opener for Chennai Super Kings in the last edition of the league and played only two games. With Vijay not in the first-choice list of the management, the franchise might look to release him ahead of the auctions for the next season.

Although Kuggeleijn scalped two wickets from the same number of games, his economy was on the higher side. It was one of the major reasons, the Kiwi pacer didn’t get an extended run in the competition.

With Ngidi fit and back in the business, Chennai is unlikely to keep him in the squad for another season of the cash-rich league. Kuggeleijn will have rub his shoulders in the auction to find a place in any of the eight franchises.

Karn Sharma has been a household name in the Indian Premier League. He made headlines when Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him for a whopping sum. He had a great time with the Hyderabad outfit and also did an outstanding job playing for Mumbai Indians.

However, the conventional leg-spinner has failed to live upto the expectations after joining Chennai Super Kings in 2018. Although he has had very limited opportunities, but Karn has failed to seize those opportunities. He played only match last season as was expensive.

With his performance not in favour, Karn will likely have to undergo the auctions to find another franchise for IPL 2020.
