Well, Cricket is not only a gentleman sport but also a cruel sport, sometimes. They say that Hard Work Pays off but sometimes, it might go wrong as well. There are few stories in Indian Cricket, where few cricketers have performed exceptionally well for the team but still lost the place in the side for the subsequent series. Taking a cue from it, we figured out 4 Indian Players who won Man Of The Match Award in their last game but never represented India again.

Here are they:

4. Pragyan Ojha:

The Hyderabad spinner was one of the go-to bowlers for India in Test matches. Especially, when Indian National Cricket Team was playing in the home conditions, his name would be on the paper, as far as a left-arm spin category is concerned.

However, he was ignored for few unknown reasons despite winning the man of the match award in his last game for India. His last series was memorable for Indian cricket and one of the sad days as well.

It was the Test match when Sachin Tendulkar called curtains on his career. Yes, it is Sachin’s farewell Test when Pragyan Ojha last featured and dedicated his man of the match to the Indian God. He finished the match with a 10-for.

3. Irfan Pathan:

Yes, the prince of Indian Cricket Bowling department also falls in the list. The swing master of India has received the man of the match award for his performance in his last ODI but unfortunately, it was the last game of his career so far.

The flamboyant cricketer has bagged a 5-wicket haul against Sri Lanka Team at Kandy.  It was a close encounter when India posted 294 on the board and Sri Lanka looked like chasing the tally with ease.

However, Irfan Pathan pulled things in India’s way by rattling through the defence of Sri Lanka. His haul includes Dilshan, Angelo Mathews and Upul Tharanga, who were at there peak. Unfortunately, it was his last game. Later, injuries and poor performances in the domestic arena dented him.

2. Subramanium Badrinath:

Well, Subramanium Badrinath is one of the unluckiest cricketers in the Indian fraternity. He has got everything to become a great player for India but unfortunately, failed to make it happen.

Coming back to the topic, he has collected man of the match for his 43-run knock in a T20I game. It was not only his last but also it was the only game, he has represented for Indian National Cricket Team in the shorter version of the game.

It was the game against the dangerous Windies Cricket Team way back in 2011. Later, he also lost his contract with Chennai Super Kings and hardly represented any team at the highest level. However, he finished with staggering numbers in the domestic circuit.

1. Amit Mishra:

The leg spinner is one of the most underrated cricketers in the Indian cricket, across the formats. He has always delivered the goods, whenever he was given the opportunity. But, unfortunately, he was always on the wrong side of things during the selection.

Amit Mishra, who made a comeback after a fine time has made a major impact on the series against New Zealand. He not only collected the man of the match in his last ODI but he was also the Man of the series in his last series for the Indian National Cricket Team.

He has taken 15 wickets at an average of 14.33, by far, he was the most successful bowler among either side. But, then he was injured for some time, which denied his chances to make a comeback, as Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav made a mark of their own.
